Nghe An - After a period of large-scale upgrading, Vinh airport was officially allowed to operate again at 0:01 on December 19, 2025.

On December 19, information from Vinh Airport (Vinh Airport) said that the Ministry of Construction had issued Decision No. 2338/QD-BXD, approving Vinh Airport, in Vinh Hung Ward, Nghe An Province, to resume operations from 0:01 a.m. on the same day.

According to the Ministry of Construction, the permission to resume exploitation will be implemented after completing the items in Package No. 11 "Construction of works, supply and installation of equipment" of the Project "Repairing runways, taxiways - Vinh Airport", fully meeting the conditions for operation according to regulations.

Along with that, the project "Expansion and renovation of aircraft parking lots - Vinh Airport Phase 1" has also been completed, contributing to improving the exploitation capacity and synchronizing the technical infrastructure of the port.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires Vinh Airport to maintain the exploitation of works in accordance with the provisions of the law on security, aviation safety, environmental sanitation, fire prevention and fighting and related regulations. At the same time, the port must fully notify the agencies and units operating here to coordinate operations, ensuring safe and effective exploitation.

Vinh Airport is also responsible for promptly updating construction information into exploitation documents according to regulations, issuing and distributing documents to relevant agencies and units for unified implementation.

According to the assignment, Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation implements aviation news announcement according to current regulations, organizes flight operations to ensure absolute safety. The Northern Airport Authority inspects and supervises exploitation activities to ensure security, safety, fire prevention and fighting and environmental sanitation.

Previously, Vinh Airport temporarily stopped exploitation to simultaneously implement infrastructure upgrade projects. The domestic Station renovation project, started on July 2, 2025, has now completed almost the entire construction volume, with the main items meeting 100% of technical and aesthetic requirements.

The project to expand and renovate the aircraft parking lot started on May 8, raising the number of parking locations from 6 to 9 for code C aircraft, and has now completed all major items. Meanwhile, the project to repair runways and taxiways has also been completed, the lighting system and ILS have been installed, synchronized authentication, and the new flight method has been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

The reopening of Vinh Airport is good news for passengers, when the infrastructure and service technology are upgraded to modernity, contributing to ensuring flight safety, shortening procedures and improving service quality, better meeting the development needs of the North Central region.
