On the afternoon of May 25, Road Management Zone IV (Vietnam Road Administration) coordinated with units and investors to inspect the scene, agree on a traffic organization plan and soon put into operation all remaining branches at the Long Thanh intersection (Long Thanh ward, Dong Nai city).
The completion of this intersection is expected to strengthen the connection between the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway and the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.
Through actual inspection, the parties basically agreed on the policy of putting the entire intersection into operation at the end of May 2026.
The units also agreed on many additional solutions such as installing additional signs, prohibition signs, traffic diversion guide signs, painting road markings and completing the warning system to ensure safety for traffic participants.
According to the report of Project Management Board 85, in the initial operation phase to date, Long Thanh intersection has only exploited 2 branches for vehicles to enter the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway from branch No. 2 of road T2 and leaving the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway through branch N7 and branch No. 1 of road T2. Currently, the route only allows cars with fewer than 9 seats to circulate, with a maximum speed of 80km/h and a minimum speed of 60km/h.
It is expected that by the end of May 2026, the remaining branches of Long Thanh intersection will be opened, including branch 3 connecting vehicles from Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway in the direction of Bien Hoa to Vung Tau to enter the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway to go to Dau Giay.
Branch 12 serves vehicles from Ho Chi Minh City to Dau Giay turning into the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway to turn around towards Bien Hoa.
In addition, branch 4 will connect the flow of vehicles from Dau Giay to Ho Chi Minh City down to Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway to go to Bien Hoa. Branch 1 serves vehicles from Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway imported to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway to go to National Highway 51 or to Ho Chi Minh City. Branch 6 will allow vehicles from Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway to turn down to Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway in the direction of Vung Tau.
Previously, from May 18, nearly 54km of the main Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway was put into operation. By 6 pm on May 24, there was another new traffic organization plan for vehicles entering the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway from branch 2 of route T2 at Long Thanh intersection.
However, because Long Thanh intersection has not fully operated all routes, travel still has certain limitations. Currently, vehicles from Bien Hoa, Trang Bom or the old Binh Duong area to the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway only go through Vo Nguyen Giap intersection and can exit at intersection 992 or National Highway 56, not yet able to exit Long Thanh.
Similarly, vehicles from Ho Chi Minh City, Long Thanh or Nhon Trach entering the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway through branch 2 of route T2 currently only move towards Vung Tau sea, and cannot go backwards towards Bien Hoa.
Cars from Dau Giay wanting to enter the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway must go to National Highway 51 and then turn back, not yet able to enter directly.
