With the opening of component project 1, 16 km long, the entire main route of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, about 54 km long, has been fully put into operation, shortening the travel time from the center of Dong Nai to the intersection of National Highway 56 HCMC to about 1 hour.
According to reporters' records, as soon as it was put into operation, the first vehicles officially rolled from the Vo Nguyen Giap intersection into the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.
In the area of the entrance to the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, functional forces are on duty to regulate traffic and guide vehicles to move according to the correct route. The atmosphere in the opening area is quite bustling, many drivers line up waiting to enter the expressway. From the intersection, cars line up to enter the main route in smooth road conditions, the system of signs, medians and traffic safety systems has been completed.
According to the Dong Nai City Construction Investment Project Management Board (the investor), the scope of temporary traffic opening of component project 1 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway starts from Km0+000 (connection point with Vo Nguyen Giap road) to Km16+000 (starting point of component project 2 in Long Thanh ward, Dong Nai City) with a total length of 16 km.
In the temporary operation phase, the expressway only serves cars with fewer than 9 seats, synchronously with the traffic organization plan of component projects 2 and 3 (operated from April 29). Other types of vehicles are currently not allowed to circulate on the route. The temporary operating speed is regulated at a maximum of 80 km/h and a minimum of 60 km/h to ensure safety in the context that some items are still being completed.
Along with the synchronous operation of the entire route, the Bung Mon intersection in Long Thanh ward is officially closed to avoid traffic conflicts and reduce the risk of unsafety when traffic volume increases.
