Quang Tri - Heavy rain causes 100m of embankment near Cha Lo International Border Gate to erode, some households are affected.

On September 14th, the People's Committee of Dan Hoa commune (Quang Tri province) said that due to the impact of a tropical depression, from September 13th and on the same night, prolonged heavy rain appeared in the area, causing subsidence and landslides in some areas.

In the Bai Kiem Hoa area of a company in the area, about 100m of embankment along rivers and streams are subsided and eroded.

The landslide location is about 700m southwest of the Cha Lo International Border Gate, in the direction from Cha Lo to Laos; and about 600m from boundary marker 528 towards Vietnam.

The landslide point poses a potential risk of affecting the project and surrounding areas.

Immediately after grasping the information, local authorities and functional forces continue to inspect and assess the extent of damage; and at the same time monitor locations at risk of landslides to implement handling measures to ensure safety for people.

Dan Hoa Commune People's Committee recommends that people proactively monitor weather developments, limit travel in areas at risk of landslides and along rivers and streams.

People are requested to promptly notify local authorities when they detect landslides, fallen trees or unsafety risks for functional forces to inspect and handle.
