About 400 cubic meters of rock and soil on a hill collapsed onto a 45-meter-long road, separating two residential areas in Dak Nong province.

On September 20, the leader of the People's Committee of Kien Thanh commune, Dak R'lap district, Dak Nong said that a serious landslide had just occurred in the area.

The landslide is located in village 4, Kien Thanh commune (about 150m from the village hall). At the scene, about 400m3 of earth and rock on a hill collapsed onto a 45m long road.

In the landslide area, on both sides of the road are hills with vertical slopes, 6 - 10m high. In particular, some other areas have cracks, with hundreds of cubic meters of rock and soil at risk of collapsing onto the road at any time.

The above road connects hamlet 5 with hamlets 6 and 7 and has about 50 households. Fortunately, at the time of the landslide, there were no vehicles or people passing by.

Immediately after receiving notice from local people about the landslide, the authorities put up warning signs, preventing people from passing through the dangerous area.

Kien Thanh commune leaders added that, through inspection, the above area is still at high risk of landslides, especially the length of about 500m (after the Hall of Village 4).

To ensure safety, local authorities have notified all residents in the area not to travel on the landslide route.

People will go out in the direction of National Highway 14, Quang Tin Commune (Dak R'lap District). The locality has also promptly mobilized 2 excavators to overcome the landslide on the above mentioned road section.
