Heavy rain from the night of August 20 to 21 caused many areas in Thai Nguyen to be deeply flooded, landslides caused congestion on some national and provincial roads through the northern communes of the province.
On National Highway 3B, landslides and fallen trees occurred at Km146+300 (Bac Kan ward), Km149+700 and Km150+700 (Bach Thong commune). At Km148+980, fallen trees blocking the road have been cleared, ensuring traffic.

On National Highway 279, at Km325+905 (Phuc Loc Commune), the road was blocked from 10:30 a.m. on August 21 due to landslides. In particular, at Km328+840 of the same route, about 8,000m3 of loose rock and soil on the slide at high altitude cannot be handled yet, causing further landslides.
The management unit has barricaded, stretched ropes, placed warning signs and diverted vehicles to ensure traffic safety.
Provincial roads such as DT.253 have 5 landslides with a volume of about 100m3. Of which, the section Km10+800 (Phuc Loc commune) was flooded 0.5m deep; DT.253B blocked the road at Km14+340 (Vinh Thong commune). DT.258 has 8 landslides, with a total volume of about 120m3, accompanied by a negative slope landslide at Km29+780.

DT.259 had landslides at Km6+350 (Thanh Mai commune) and Km25+900 (Bac Kan ward), causing traffic disruption. The overflow points through Thanh Mai commune such as Km7+700, Km9+577, Km10+300, Km13+460, Km13+570 were all flooded about 0.5m deep.
Faced with the above situation, the authorities have mobilized human resources, landslide handling equipment, put up warning signs and organized traffic flow.
Also today, the Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 04/CD-UBND requesting units to focus on responding to natural disasters.
Departments, branches and units, strengthen direction, seriously implement Directive No. 01/CT-UBND and provincial directives on natural disaster prevention, control and overcoming in 2025.
The People's Committees of communes and wards monitor, forecast and promptly warn of flood and landslide developments. Organize a review and be ready to evacuate people from dangerous areas.
The Army and Police forces are preparing rescue plans. Support people in relocation, protect property, and coordinate response and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
