On the morning of December 25, vehicles were able to circulate again on Khanh Le Pass on National Highway 27C - the main traffic axis connecting Nha Trang with Da Lat.
After a day of opening to traffic, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters recorded that traffic through the pass was basically stable. The authorities are still maintaining high vigilance, continuing to monitor and assess the safety level of the route.
According to the decision of the authorities of Khanh Hoa province, people and vehicles with a weight of less than 5 tons, along with passenger cars with 16 seats or less, are allowed to travel through Khanh Le Pass.
Meanwhile, vehicles traveling from 5pm to 6am the next morning, vehicles of 5 tons or more and passenger cars with more than 16 seats are recommended to choose National Highway 27 or other suitable routes to travel between Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong.

The traffic reopening is being carried out step by step, based on the assessment of the current status after more than a month of landslide recovery. It was noted that on the first day of opening, the traffic volume through the pass was not large, mainly cars, small tourist vehicles and motorbikes.
At locations where serious landslides have occurred, authorities have arranged barriers, warning signs, traffic diversion and assigned officers to be on duty to promptly handle arising situations. Traffic participants are advised to move slowly, follow the instructions of the regulating force and closely monitor weather developments.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Tu - a taxi driver residing in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province said that many people and transportation businesses are excited when Khanh Le Pass is reopened to traffic, although it has only been applied to some types of vehicles.
Previously, landslides and complete blocking of the pass made travel and freight transportation between the two localities difficult, with costs increasing due to having to take a detour.
"Even if large vehicles are not allowed to circulate, it has helped people reduce their hardships a lot. We hope the road will be completely repaired soon so that traffic can return to normal, Mr. Tu shared.

A representative of Khanh Hoa Road Management and Construction Joint Stock Company said that the unit continues to reinforce the slope, clear rocks and soil, clear the drainage system and handle unsafe points along the entire route.
After allowing conditions for traffic, the work of monitoring and assessing the current status of the road is given top priority.
Khanh Hoa Department of Construction and relevant agencies continue to coordinate with road management units to strengthen inspection and supervision, not being subjective in the face of complicated weather developments, especially when local rain may still occur in the pass area.
The initial opening of Khanh Le Pass is considered a positive signal after a long period of efforts to overcome landslides.
However, to ensure the safety of people and vehicles, the authorities recommend that people follow official information, comply with regulations on load and types of vehicles allowed for circulation.
People proactively choose a suitable travel time until the road is completely restored.
