Recalling the incident, Ms. N.T.L (residing in Bo De ward, Hanoi) - mother of T.T.H (13 years old) - said that at around 1:00 a.m. on July 30, while sleeping, she suddenly woke up when a call came from a strange phone number.
After listening to the phone and recognizing her son's voice, the boy told her to pick him up at the village gate. Mrs. L. rushed to pick up her child. When she arrived, she saw her son waiting. The joy of seeing her child again quickly gave way to worries and a series of questions that were in the mother's heart.
I asked who brought my child home, and he said a stranger was carrying him from Ngoc Thuy Park, then lent me a phone to call me, Ms. L. said.
When she got home, she gently asked her son where he had been in the past few days, what he was doing and why he had not contacted his family. The child said that on the afternoon of July 25, while playing at the village communal house, two strange men approached him, invited him to go out and said they would only go for a while and then return. H. agreed, but the bicycle was left in the communal house.
After getting in the car, they took him across a large bridge with many flashing lights, but he did not know where it was. After that, they gave him fried potatoes to eat, and after eating, he fainted.
When he woke up, he found himself locked up in a basement. The others did not beat them, did not feed them but only gave them water to drink. On the afternoon of July 29, he discovered that the basement door was unlocked, and he went up to look but didn't see anyone. The main door was also open, so the child ran away, Mrs. L. recounted her child.
When arriving at Ngoc Thuy Park, H. met a woman. "The woman saw the child walking in the middle of the night and approached to ask about it. Hearing my grandchild say that he had just escaped from detention, she asked for the address and took my child to the gate of the communal house," said Ms. L.
The same morning, the family went to report the incident to the police according to the child. "After this, we will strictly teach our children, remind them to absolutely not touch or trust strangers, no matter what they say or do, they cannot be accepted," Ms. L. expressed.
She also said that the family is considering taking her child back to her hometown for a while because they are worried that bad guys could come back to find her.
Previously, at around 9:00 p.m. on July 25, T.T.H cycled out of his house in the old Ngoc Thuy ward (now Bo De ward). At 10pm, when he did not return to Ms. L.'s family, he went to look around the surrounding area but to no avail.
According to Ms. L., at first the family thought that she might go to her friend's house to play and sleep. But the next morning, when I went to my friends' house, I couldn't find him. The family then notified relatives and reported to the authorities for support. In the following days, despite searching everywhere, they still had no information about H.
