Shipper in Ho Chi Minh City assaulted with a broken nose for demanding 64,000 VND for goods

HCMC - An Phu Ward Police, Thu Duc City are handling the case of a male delivery staff being assaulted and having a broken nose when delivering goods.

On May 20, a clip recording a male delivery staff being repeatedly punched, knees and pulled down his hair on the street by a man in An Phu ward, Thu Duc city quickly spread on social media, causing public outrage.

According to the clip, although many people witnessed the incident, no one dared to stand up to stop the man's violent actions. A woman present at the scene said the male shipper had been beaten three times and had a bleeding nose.

The victim was identified as Mr. N.T.P. (31 years old, living in Thu Duc City). Mr. P. said the incident originated on May 16, when he came to deliver a food order to the man but could not meet him.

Mr. P. has left the goods on demand and is promised to transfer the payment later. However, by the evening of the same day, he still had not received the money, so he called to remind, leading to words back and forth between the two sides. After that, the man transferred the amount of 64,000 VND.

On May 18, when Mr. P. continued to deliver another order to this man's wife, he was scolded and threatened to be beaten by the woman. At the peak, after delivering the goods, the man suddenly appeared and brutally assaulted Mr. P.

The assault caused Mr. P. to suffer chest damage and most seriously, a broken nose. Currently, Mr. P. has reported the incident to the An Phu Ward Police, Thu Duc City and is temporarily on leave to treat the wound.

An Phu Ward Police said they are preparing a file to handle the case according to the provisions of law.
