On the afternoon of August 28, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council passed a resolution on reward and support policies for collectives and individuals who have done a good job of population work in the area. One of the highlights is the increase in the bonus for women who have 2 children.
For commune groups with 3 consecutive years of achieving and exceeding the rate of 60% of couples of childbearing age having 2 children will be proposed to be awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, with support of 30 million VND. If this achievement is maintained for 5 consecutive years, the support level will increase to 60 million VND.
For individuals, women who give birth to 2 children before the age of 35 will receive 5 million VND at a time. This is a new support level, 2 million VND higher than the previous regulation.
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council also decided to allocate funds for prenatal and newborn screening.
Pregnant women and newborns from poor or near-poor households, social protection beneficiaries or living in island communes and special zones will be supported with 2 million VND. The support package includes the cost of prenatal screening (600,000 VND), newborn screening (400,000 VND) and cash of 1 million VND.
In the field of elderly health care, the commune collective that meets 100% of elderly people with health insurance cards, has a record of regular health monitoring and examination will be proposed to be awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, with support of 30 million VND. Population collaborators in hamlets, when successfully completing the target of mobilizing and monitoring the health care of the elderly at home and in the community, will be awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level.
Also at the meeting, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council approved the compensation policy for population collaborators. Accordingly, the support level is 600,000 VND/person/month for collaborators in wards and 700,000 VND/person/month for collaborators in communes and special zones. In addition, population collaborators participating in voluntary health insurance will be supported with the full contribution level, except in cases where they already have compulsory health insurance.
