According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in the 3 days from August 19 to 21, 2025, African swine fever continued to appear in the pigs of 243 households in 22 communes and wards in Quang Ngai province, with 2,970 pigs forced to be destroyed. From July 1 to August 21, 2025, the epidemic occurred in 59 communes, wards and special zones, causing 70,044 pigs to become sick and have to be destroyed.
To date, 7 communes and wards have not had any new cases after 21 days. However, many localities such as Son Tinh, Nghia Giang, Ve Giang, Nghia Hanh and Dinh Cuong still have complicated developments. The Department of Agriculture and Environment is closely coordinating with localities to control outbreaks.

In this situation, the Provincial People's Committee has issued many documents directing and requesting the synchronous implementation of epidemic prevention and control solutions. Localities have established Steering Committees for disease prevention and control; destroyed sick livestock; disinfected and destroyed barns; controled transportation and slaughter; and increased propaganda to each livestock household. To date, the whole province has used more than 8,189 liters of chemicals and 213,725 kg of lime powder for disinfection.
In the coming time, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will continue to coordinate with localities to implement the second hygiene and disinfection month of 2025; guide the conditions for re-herding after the epidemic ends; tighten the management of transportation and slaughter of pigs and pig products. The industry will also establish working groups to directly inspect and urge at the grassroots level, especially in areas with complicated epidemics.
The relevant agencies recommend that livestock farmers proactively implement biosecurity measures, get vaccinated and promptly report when detecting the epidemic, contributing to the government's early control of the epidemic and stabilizing livestock production in the province.
