On February 1st, Muong Bu commune organized the Boat Racing Festival in the Pa Suoi Bu area, Ta Bung village.


The festival gathered 8 teams with nearly 80 athletes from villages in the commune.
The teams compete in the 400m distance, competing in a time-based format, direct elimination. The Organizing Committee selected 5 teams with the best results to enter the final round.
Each decisive cheo rhythm harmonizing with drums, gongs and cheers created a vibrant festival picture on the water surface along the Da River.


Along both banks of the river, a large number of people and tourists stood crowded on the alluvial ground, enthusiastically cheering, adding momentum for the racing teams to break through the waves to reach the finish line.
Mr. Trinh Minh Hai - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Day said that this is an annual activity to preserve the beauty of river culture and fishing habits along the Da River. At the same time, creating a healthy playground and strengthening solidarity between villages in the commune.


Mr. Lo Van Dich - captain of Ta Bung boat racing team shared: "Brothers in the team have practiced for many days. We are determined to play our best and bring beautiful competitions to contribute to the audience.
Present at the festival, Mr. Dieu Chinh La - a tourist from Quynh Nhai commune - expressed: "My hometown also has a traditional boat racing festival after Tet. Today, watching the Muong Bu commune boat teams compete, I am very impressed with the exciting atmosphere and solidarity along the Da River.
At the end of the program, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to the Phet boat team. At the same time, awarded the Second and Third Prizes and consolation prizes to teams with outstanding achievements.

The festival closed in a joyful and united atmosphere. Thereby, leaving a beautiful impression of a riverside commune imbued with the identity of ethnic groups.
