On July 17, speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Tran Viet Quang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quy Nhon Dong Ward (Gia Lai Province) - confirmed that a tourist canoe had just overturned, causing 3 people to suffer minor injuries.
According to initial information, at around 11:30 a.m. the same day, the Khanh An 03 tourist canoe was carrying 26 passengers from Ky Co to the mainland. When docking at the Ly Hoa beach area to return to the passenger, the canoe was suddenly hit hard by a large wave in the duck feet area behind, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The incident caused 2 tourists and 1 tour guide to be slightly injured. The remaining people were brought to shore safely, with no cases endangering their lives.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Nhon Ly Border Guard Station and the People's Committee of Quy Nhon Dong Ward quickly arrived at the scene, supported bringing the vehicle to shore, and visited and encouraged the victims who were scratched.
Mr. Quang said that through initial inspection, Khanh An canoe has all the conditions to operate tourist transportation. The authorities are working with the vehicle owner and the canoe operator to clarify the cause of the incident.
The Ward People's Committee has also reminded all vehicles operating in the area to strictly comply with safety regulations when picking up and dropping off guests at sea, especially in erratic weather conditions.
