Traffic accident on Highway 279, 1 person seriously injured

    A traffic accident just occurred on National Highway 279, in Dien Bien province, causing traffic to be partially blocked for nearly 1 hour.

    Accordingly, the traffic accident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on October 16 at Km87 + 190 on National Highway 279 in Thanh An commune, Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province.

    At the scene of the accident, a truck with license plate 27C - 046.01 driven by Lo Van Quyet, residing in Nam Po district, Dien Bien province, in the direction of Dien Bien - Tay Trang International Border Gate, collided with a truck with license plate 49H - 020.84 (driver's identity unknown) moving in the opposite direction.

    The accident resulted in one seriously injured person being taken to the emergency room, and two vehicles being severely damaged. The cause of the accident is being investigated by authorities.

    The accident caused traffic on National Highway 279 from Dien Bien Phu City to Tay Trang International Border Gate and vice versa to be congested for nearly 1 hour.
