On October 8, Hoc Mon District Police were still coordinating with relevant units to investigate the traffic accident that killed a 71-year-old woman.
Initial information, at noon the same day, the male driver drove a truck on Phan Van Hon Street, from Pham Van Sang Street to National Highway 1, when the vehicle reached the intersection of Phan Van Hon - Nguyen Anh Thu Street, he stopped at a red light.
The red light ended, the truck continued moving and suddenly hit an old woman (about 71 years old, living in Hoc Mon district) who was walking her bicycle across the street.
As a result, the old woman fell onto the road and was run over by a truck, killing her on the spot.
Hoc Mon district authorities then arrived to block off the area and extract camera footage to investigate the cause of the accident.
