Accident on Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, pickup truck overturns, 1 person dies

Functional agencies are clarifying the cause of a traffic accident (TNGT) that occurred on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, killing 1 person.

According to information from Road Management Office I.2 (Vietnam Road Administration), at about 10:00 am on March 3, at Km183+600 of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, Chau Que commune, Lao Cai province, a serious traffic accident occurred, killing 1 person on the spot and injuring 1 person.

According to initial information, at the time of the accident, the weather was not rainy, the road surface was dry. The pickup truck with license plate 89A-668. 40 was traveling in the direction of Lao Cai - Noi Bai.

When arriving at the above location, the vehicle suddenly crashed into the corrugated iron fence protecting the construction site, then overturned, lying on its stomach in the phase 2 construction lane area.

As a result, 1 person died on the spot, 1 person was injured and taken to the emergency room. The corrugated iron fence system was damaged, and the pickup truck was heavily deformed after the collision.

Immediately after receiving the news, functional forces were present at the scene to divert traffic and protect the scene.
