Spending the full 3 days of Tet with his family, Mr. Tran Van Quynh (38 years old, from Ninh Binh, a technology motorbike taxi driver in Hanoi) turned on the application to pick up and drop off passengers in the My Dinh bus station area (Hanoi) from the morning of the 4th day of Tet.
At the time after Tet, Hanoi roads are clear, and his first trips in 2026 are also full of emotions. Mr. Quynh recounted that his family saw him coming to Hanoi to work early, so they also put some banh chung, gio cha, and candies in their luggage.
Turning on the car driving application from the morning of the 4th day of Tet, many customers going for drinks and visiting relatives continuously called for a car, so he did not have time to rest, but in return, the car fare these days is quite high.
The strict control of alcohol concentration has caused many people who use alcohol and beer to call for more cars. From the 4th day of Tet until now, I have been driving without time to rest. There are the first customers of the year when taking me to the rendezvous point, they gave lucky money and wished me good luck at the beginning of the new year" - Mr. Quynh said.

Forecasting that from the afternoon of the 4th-5th day of Tet, people from provinces and cities will start returning to Hanoi to work, Mr. Le Van Kien (from Nghe An, working as a technology motorbike taxi driver in Hanoi) has returned to work right from the 4th day of Tet.
According to Mr. Kien, these days Hanoi streets are quite airy, unlike normal days when inner-city traffic is congested, and ride-hailing motorbike taxis are very strenuous.
It's been a long time since I had the feeling of both carrying passengers and being relaxed, being able to fully admire the streets like that. Moreover, during Tet days, the bus fare is high, my income is also from 1-1.5 million VND, 1.5 times higher than normal days" - Mr. Kien said.
Also booking a ride-hailing motorbike taxi for transportation, Ms. Hoang Thi Lan (living in Tu Liem ward, Hanoi) shared that after Tet, many people and workers from provinces and cities flock to Hanoi in large numbers, while many ride-hailing motorbike taxi drivers have not returned. Trips often have surcharges, and prices are higher than normal days.
Ms. Lan added that on the 3rd and 4th days of Tet, her family had a schedule to visit relatives in Gia Lam and Dong Anh to wish Tet greetings. Because all family members used alcohol and beer at the New Year's party, her family decided not to drive themselves but booked a technology car service with a driver to pick them up and drop them off in the afternoon.
On normal days, this distance is only about a few hundred thousand VND, but that day the price increased by one and a half times due to Tet surcharges and sudden increases in demand. However, my family still accepts it because safety comes first" - Ms. Lan said.
