The incident of a technology car driver being chased and beaten by a group of people in Tan Tao A ward, Binh Tan district caused a stir in public opinion.
On February 1, a clip went viral on social media of a man riding a motorbike being chased by a group of people who blocked his motorbike and then punched him in the face. The man who was beaten was identified as a driver for a ride-hailing service.
According to the reporter's verification, the incident took place on Tran Van Giau Street, at the intersection with Nguyen Van Cu Street (Tan Tao A Ward, Binh Tan District) on January 31.
Notably, many people witnessed the incident of chasing and beating the tech-car driver but did not intervene. One woman even tried to grab her helmet and attack the victim.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. N.M.N (born in 2000, residing in Binh Tan District), the victim in the incident, said that before being beaten, he was kicked in the bike by this group of people. Mr. N has filed a report with Binh Tan District Police to clarify the incident.
"I did not quarrel or have a traffic accident with this group of people. The man who beat me showed signs of being drunk and acting out of control," said Mr. N.
Binh Tan District Police have received the information and are investigating the incident.
