Previously, on September 30, 2024, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province submitted Document No. 461 to the Government and the Ministry of Home Affairs on the arrangement and establishment of district and commune-level administrative units for the 2023-2025 period of Ha Tinh province.
According to the plan to arrange administrative units of Ha Tinh province, the administrative boundaries of Ha Tinh city will be adjusted and expanded on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population size of 14 communes into Ha Tinh city.
Of which, 11 communes of Thach Ha district were merged, including: Dinh Ban, Thach Hai, Thach Hoi, Thach Khe, Thach Lac, Thach Thang, Thach Tri, Thach Van, Tuong Son, Tan Lam Huong and Thach Dai commune.
Merge 2 communes of Cam Xuyen district, including: Cam Vinh commune and Cam Binh commune and Ho Do commune, Loc Ha district.
Enter the entire natural area and population size of the remaining 11 communes and towns of Loc Ha district, including: Loc Ha town, Thinh Loc commune, Tan Loc commune, Hong Loc commune, Ich Hau commune, Phu Luu commune, Thach My commune, Mai Phu commune, Binh An commune, Thach Kim commune and Thach Chau commune into the remaining natural area and population size of Thach Ha district.
In Ha Tinh City, establish Thach Hung ward from Thach Hung commune; Tran Phu ward on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population size of Thach Linh ward and most of the natural area and population size of Tran Phu ward (except Residential Group 6).
Establish Bac Ha ward on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Bac Ha ward; the entire natural area and population of Nguyen Du ward and the entire Residential Group 6 of Tran Phu ward.
Establish Thach Trung ward on the basis of the original status of Thach Trung commune; establish Thach Ha ward on the basis of the original status of Thach Ha commune; establish Dong Mon ward on the basis of the original status of Dong Mon commune.
In Huong Son district, Ham Truong commune is established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Son Ham commune and the entire natural area and population of Son Truong commune.
Establish My Long commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Son Long commune and the entire natural area and population of Son Tra commune.
Establish Chau Binh commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Son Chau commune and the entire natural area and population of Son Binh commune.
In Can Loc district, merge the entire natural area and population size of Trung Loc commune into Dong Loc town.
In Huong Khe district, merge the entire natural area and population size of Phu Phong commune, part of the natural area and population size of Huong Xuan commune and part of the natural area and population size of Phu Gia commune into Huong Khe town.
In Ky Anh town, establish Ky Nam ward on the basis of the original status of Ky Nam commune; Establish Ky Ninh ward on the basis of the original status of Ky Ninh commune.
In Ky Anh district, establish Ky Dong town on the basis of the original status of Ky Dong commune.
