Accelerate to shorten completion time
Currently, there are 2 road expressway projects being implemented in Ninh Binh province, including the Cao Bo - Mai Son expressway expansion project and the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway project. Immediately after the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 holiday, investors and contractors are focusing manpower and machinery to accelerate the progress of projects.
At the construction site of the Cao Bo - Mai Son expressway expansion project, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, on February 24, all construction teams returned to normal work. At the construction packages of roadbeds, overpasses, underpasses, drainage systems..., groups of workers divided shifts to work with urgency. Contractors organized 3 shifts, 4 crews to compensate for volume during the Tet holiday, determined to shorten the project construction progress.
Mr. Tran Quang Thuy (roller operator) - shared: "After Tet holiday, the brothers will return to the construction site immediately. Everyone is determined to make efforts to shorten the project completion time.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Ngoc - Director of the Construction Investment Project Management Board (under the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Construction - the investor of the above project) - informed that currently the investor is urging contractors to focus manpower and machinery to accelerate the project progress. The project construction is still ensuring the set progress.
The Cao Bo - Mai Son expressway expansion project has a main route length of 15.2km. Currently, the investor is deploying expansion from 4 lanes to 6 complete lanes, along with a smart traffic system (ITS); vehicle load control system; toll stations are built synchronously according to expressway standards.
According to the plan, the entire project will be completed and put into use in August 2026, thus shortening the construction time by about 6 months compared to the plan," Mr. Ngoc said.
Similarly, at the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway project, units have proactively prepared materials, manpower, and machinery from before Tet so that when restarting, they can simultaneously deploy many construction fronts.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh - Deputy Director of Investment and Construction Project Management Board No. 1 of Ninh Binh province (Project Investor), currently contractors are deploying 7 construction fronts with about 500 machines, equipment and nearly 1,000 workers to accelerate the project progress.
Currently, the construction volume has reached about 20%. Contractors are mobilizing machinery and manpower to work 3 shifts/day. Workers eat and stay right at the construction site and work until 10 pm daily.
Ninh Binh province has shortened the construction time of the project from 6 years (2024 - 2029) to 3 years (2024 - 2026), therefore, the province has directed to complete the construction work in 2026. Currently, we have also assigned officials to closely monitor the construction site, promptly handle difficulties. At the same time, direct contractors to increase shifts, increase crews, and supplement human and material resources in the sections where land has been cleared," Mr. Minh said.
Provincial Party Secretary arrives at the construction site to encourage workers
To encourage workers who are working day and night on expressway projects in Ninh Binh, on the morning of February 24, Mr. Dang Xuan Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee and leaders of the Provincial People's Committee directly came to the construction site to visit and encourage workers.
On the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway, Ninh Binh Provincial Party Secretary Dang Xuan Phong and the working delegation listened to reports on the progress of construction and the expected completion time of the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway construction investment project, the section passing through Ninh Binh province.
Secretary of Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee Dang Xuan Phong praised and congratulated the results that the investor and contractors have achieved in 2025 and requested the project investor and contractors to seize favorable opportunities, mobilize maximum human resources and machinery to accelerate progress and complete progress according to commitments.
