At the end of the year, the construction site of Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School, Lao Cai province is still bustling with a working atmosphere.
On a large site, machinery operates continuously, workers work shifts to stick to the construction site, determined to accelerate the progress of the project with a total investment of 215 billion VND.
Recorded in many days at the beginning of February 2026 at the scene, from early morning to late afternoon, the sound of excavators, rollers, and stone drills echoed non-stop.
The main items are deployed simultaneously, from leveling the ground, constructing foundations to processing reinforced steel, installing molds. The urgent working atmosphere creates a vibrant "large construction site" in the days leading up to Tet.
The Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School project is built with a synchronous scale, including classroom buildings, student dormitories, administration areas, multi-purpose buildings, kitchens and technical infrastructure systems.
When completed, the project will meet the learning and living needs of highland students, especially children of ethnic minorities in the old Muong Khuong district.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Hoang Quoc Cuong - Deputy Construction Site Commander said that up to this point, the construction unit has completed the concrete paving for 3 building blocks including the dormitory and the administration block. In addition to the contractor's workforce, the unit also hired additional local workers to strengthen human resources.
Currently, there are 7 rollers, 5 rock excavators, 6 excavators and about 30 trucks on the construction site serving ground leveling work.
Although the weather conditions at the end of the year in the highlands are not really favorable, the construction teams are still maintained continuously. We strive from now until the Lunar New Year to complete the entire foundation of the building blocks," Mr. Cuong shared.
Information from the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project is currently mobilizing about 150 workers and more than 30 vehicles and machines of all kinds operating regularly. To date, the 35kV power line relocation item has been completed.
Ground leveling work has reached about 70% of the volume of embankment soil, basically reaching the design elevation to deploy the foundation construction of dormitory blocks B1, B2, administration block, classrooms and multi-purpose buildings.
Regarding the dormitory area B3 and the kitchen, teams are focusing on breaking rocks and treating the foundation to soon deploy the next steps. For the dormitory blocks B1 and B2, the construction unit has completed pouring the concrete lining, and is currently processing and installing molds and foundation steel.
The administration building block has completed the foundation, switching to construction and installation of column baseboards. For the classroom building block, the concrete paving work has been completed, and construction teams are speeding up the processing and installation of baseboards and foundation reinforcement.
Representatives of the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board also said that this is a key educational project of the locality, so quality and progress monitoring is carried out strictly.
The Board regularly inspects the site, promptly coordinates with contractors to remove difficulties, ensure construction is in accordance with design, safe and effective.
When completed, Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School is expected to contribute to improving the quality of education, creating better learning conditions for students in mountainous and border areas of Lao Cai province.
