On the morning of March 4, at the Ngoc Ha Ward Culture - Information and Sports Center (Hanoi), the Hanoi City People's Committee organized the 2026 troop handover ceremony - Troop handover point No. 04 of the 3rd Regional Defense Command - Hong Ha.
At the ceremony, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc lit the traditional fire platform, affirming the meaning of the military service day of Capital citizens as a great festival of patriotism, showing civic responsibility and pride in fulfilling their sacred duty to the Fatherland.

In 2026, Hanoi city has 4,721 citizens enlisting (Army 4,000 citizens, Police 721 citizens), of which 2,428 citizens volunteered to write applications for voluntary enlistment (accounting for more than 60%).
This year, enlisted citizens with university, college, and vocational secondary school qualifications reached 30%, with 164 comrades being party members, and 2,277 comrades being trained in Party target classes.

Major General Dao Van Nhan, Commander of the Hanoi Capital High Command, said that seriously implementing the city's direction, 17 wards (at troop assignment point No. 4 of the 3rd Area Defense Command - Hong Ha) have effectively and correctly implemented the process of selecting and calling citizens to enlist in the Army and recruiting police officers for 2026 with high quality.
Specifically, 440 citizens (Army 362, Police 78) were selected to go on military service (reaching 100% of the target assigned by superiors), of which over 42% achieved university, college and vocational secondary school level, 209 comrades studied in Party target classes, 28 comrades were admitted to the Party, and 257 citizens volunteered to enlist.
The Commander of the Hanoi Capital High Command wishes that the citizens and children of the Capital enlisting in the army always promote the heroic Capital tradition, the local tradition; the tradition of "Splitting through Truong Son to save the country", brave and resilient fighting of previous generations, the tradition of "Three Readiness" of the Capital's youth, in any circumstances, they are always absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the people, and excellently complete all tasks assigned by the Party, State, Army and Police.

Major General Dao Van Nhan requested units receiving troops to create the best conditions for new recruits of Hanoi Capital to soon integrate into the military environment, strive to train and mature to excellently complete the assigned tasks.
Party committees at all levels, local authorities, socio-political organizations, and people's organizations should well implement the policy of military rear support, continue to pay attention to encouraging, caring for, and promptly and practically helping families with children enlisting so that comrades can feel secure in performing their military duties well.

Representing the enlisted soldiers in this phase, citizen Nguyen Minh Nam (Giang Vo ward) emphasized that he will always promote revolutionary traditions, enthusiastically set off to protect the Fatherland and perform his duties, ready to receive and successfully complete all tasks assigned by the Party, State, army, police and people.
At the Ngoc Ha Ward Culture - Information and Sports Center, amidst the crowd of relatives reluctantly seeing their children off to perform their duties, Ms. Vu Thi Mui (76 years old, residing in Hoan Kiem ward) quietly watched her grandchild in the colors of the People's Police uniform.
When the young man stepped across the "bridge of glory" to enlist, the grandmother's eyes lit with pride mixed with emotion.
Just when I was holding my grandchild in my arms, now he is tall and mature, following the family tradition to protect the sacred Fatherland," Mrs. Mui choked up.
She said that although she loves her grandchild, the whole family is reassured when they see him wearing a military uniform.
The Police environment will help him train his bravery, discipline and become more mature. Thinking so, my family and I are very reassured. We hope he will constantly study, train, and excellently complete all assigned tasks," Ms. Mui said.
