Previously, at about 5:20 am on January 22, Mr. Y Diem Hlong (resident of Dak Lieng commune) discovered a pangolin lying on the fence in his garden.
Knowing that this is a rare animal, Mr. Y Diem Hlong brought this individual into the house to protect it, to avoid pangolins getting lost or being abused.
After that, Mr. Y Diem Hlong voluntarily brought the above-mentioned pangolin to hand over to Dak Lieng Commune Police.
After receiving it, Dak Lieng Commune Police coordinated with forest rangers to identify the pangolin individual handed over by Mr. Y Diem Hlong as Java pangolin (scientific name Manis javanica).
This is a species belonging to group IB - a endangered and rare species prioritized for protection, weighing 2. kg. At the time of reception, the pangolin individual was not injured, had good motor ability, and was in good health.
Functional forces have made a record and completed procedures to hand over and organize the release of pangolins to the natural environment.
