Warm and meaningful new homes
In the first days of the new year, dozens of households in D'ran commune (Lam Dong), whose houses were collapsed and heavily damaged due to the October 2025 flood, burst into joy when celebrating Tet in new houses.

The houses were built from the Quang Trung Campaign launched by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives.
Moving to a new house more than half a month ago, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly (D'ran commune) emotionally said that the greatest joy is not only having a spacious roof after the devastating flood but also peace of mind when she is old and has a solid place to live.

After the flood, the house was flattened, I could only sit and cry. Being cared for by the Party and the State, now the house is decent. Children and grandchildren have a decent place to study, and the family also has more faith to start a new journey," Ms. Ly said.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thom (61 years old, Lac Thien 1 village, D'ran commune) still has not forgotten the days when floodwaters rose rapidly, the whole family only had time to hug each other and run out. Looking at the house being swept away by water, all belongings lost, she once thought she had lost everything.
When the flood receded, we were helpless to see the desolation. But now, my family has a new solid house, solid walls, solid roofs. The house is not only for rain and sun shelter but also a place for my family to go home and feel secure in doing business," Ms. Thom shared.

People in D'ran commune said that if it were not for the joint efforts of the government, the armed forces of Lam Dong province, Military Region 7, the Ministry of Public Security and people near and far, they would probably have to live temporarily for a long time.
After the upheaval, what remains is not only new houses but also warm human affection, military-civilian solidarity. The homes are built not only with bricks and stones but also with sharing.
Tet of affection in flood-affected areas
The historic flood in October 2025 caused many houses to be distorted, property swept away, and life turned upside down. In that difficult moment, the police force promptly arrived and supported people to overcome the consequences.

With a spirit of urgency, officers and soldiers of Lam Dong Provincial Police devoted their efforts to building, repairing and handing over houses to people, with the goal of helping people have stable housing before the New Year.
After more than a month of implementation, 27/27 houses under the responsibility of Lam Dong Provincial Police have been completed and handed over on schedule, ensuring quality, and have been recognized by the government and people.

On the day of return, the working delegation also presented many practical gifts; together with people, they cleaned up, decorated houses, and hung national flags to prepare to welcome spring.
The atmosphere is bustling again in the small hamlets that have suffered many losses.

Major Doan Quang Phong, representative of the Mobile Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police, shared: "We return here like children and siblings returning from afar to visit their families. Seeing people healthy and settled in houses built by the unit's own hands, that is the greatest happiness of soldiers.
According to the leader of the D'ran Commune People's Committee, floods in October 2025 caused heavy damage to 46 houses, of which 17 completely collapsed and 29 were damaged.
Thanks to support from the Central Government and Lam Dong province, by December 31, 2025, the locality had completed the repair of 29 houses and built 17 new houses that collapsed, helping people to celebrate Tet in their new homes in time.
This Tet, in houses still smelling of lime, people in the flood-stricken D'ran region welcome spring with a different mindset: More peaceful, more confident after months of overcoming natural disasters.
