On the evening of April 10, at the Hall of the Party Committee of Hon Dat commune, the Steering Committee for "Military-Civilian Tet" activities of An Giang province organized the Closing Ceremony of the "Military-Civilian Tet" program to celebrate the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay Tet in 2026.
After a period of implementation, the program has mobilized a total resource of over 8 billion VND, implemented many practical projects and tasks, contributing to a clear change in the rural face of Hon Dat commune. Prominent is the construction of 50 houses for poor, near-poor households, and policy families (exceeding 10 houses compared to the plan) with a total cost of over 3 billion VND; completed 8 rural traffic bridges (exceeding 5 bridges compared to the plan).

The program has effectively implemented many tasks serving people's livelihoods such as: implementing a high-quality rice cultivation model worth 500 million VND; building 3 km of lighting roads, 11 km of rural flower roads; supporting 100 water purification equipment and 100 water containers for people.
In the field of social security, activities are organized widely with a budget of over 1 billion VND for medical examination and free medicine distribution; awarding about 1,000 gifts to poor households, from 700 - 1,000 gifts to people in difficult circumstances, 40 scholarships, and many practical gifts such as bicycles, school supplies... contributing to helping people celebrate the traditional Tet in a warm and meaningful atmosphere.

In addition to works and tasks, the program also organizes many cultural, artistic, and sports activities imbued with Khmer ethnic identity such as art performances, folk dances, five-tone music, Tet cake wrapping contests..., creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere in the People during the Chol Chnam Thmay Tet.
In particular, the provincial armed forces have promoted their core role, directly participating in thousands of working days to help people build houses, build bridges, repair roads, and embellish the landscape and environment... Thereby continuing to tighten the military-civilian solidarity relationship, contributing to building an increasingly solid "people's heart formation".
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented 50 gifts to reserve forces, militia and self-defense forces, policy families who are Khmer people in difficult circumstances and awarded 20 scholarships to poor students who overcame difficulties and studied well who are Khmer ethnic people.

The Steering Committee also announced the decision to assign the task of organizing "Military-Civilian Tet" activities in 2027 Chol Chnam Thmay to Go Quao commune, continuing to spread the effective mass mobilization model, contributing to building new rural areas and consolidating national defense and security in the area.
