On May 21, a working delegation of Thai Nguyen province led by Mr. Duong Van Tien - Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee visited and presented support to households affected by floods in Ba Be district, Bac Kan province.
Also attending were Ms. Do Thi Minh Hoa - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Kan province; leaders of the Labor Federations of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces, and the Red Cross Society.
The working group visited households in Dong Phuc and Yen Duong communes. These are the 2 localities that suffered the most damage in the recent floods. The delegation has given each commune 100 million VND in support to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives.
The Thai Nguyen Provincial Red Cross Society donated 25 million VND to Dong Phuc and Yen Duong communes each. The Thai Nguyen Provincial Federation of Labor sent 5 gifts to households that suffered heavy damage, each worth 1.3 million VND.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, prolonged heavy rain on May 17 and 18 caused flash floods and landslides in many localities in Bac Kan. To date, the total damage caused by natural disasters is estimated at 100 billion VND.
The whole province recorded 4 deaths and 3 injuries in Yen Duong and Dong Phuc communes (Ba Be district). Hundreds of hectares of crops, livestock, infrastructure systems, and transportation were severely damaged.
