Ha Giang - After nearly 2 months of rapid construction, the resettlement area for dozens of households affected by landslides after storm No. 3 in Quang Binh district is about to be completed.

The resettlement area project in Yen Lap village, Yen Thanh commune (Quang Binh district, Ha Giang) with a total investment of nearly 20 billion VND was started in November 2024.

This is an urgent project to stabilize the lives of households whose houses are located in areas severely eroded after storm No. 3. The project is implemented on a scale of 21,000m2 with a plan for 47 resettlement sites, with an average area of ​​207 - 230m2/site.

Recorded at the end of December, after nearly 2 months of implementation, the resettlement project in Yen Lap village has been basically completed, the new, spacious houses have entered the final stages of completion.

At the construction site, many groups of workers are completing the rough construction, making roads, and cleaning up the inside of the residential area. The houses are all solidly built and fully functional.

Items such as roads, sidewalks, and drainage ditches are being urgently constructed. The construction of technical infrastructure ensures that 100% of households have access to clean water and electricity for lighting.

Ms. Thao Thi Ca (Yen Thanh commune) said that her family of 7 people, located in the landslide area, was relocated to a new place. The family's project started in mid-November 2024, and to date, the items have been basically completed.

"In about a week, my house will be finished. I am very happy because I will have a new, more spacious and safer house. Thanks to that, people can live and work in peace, improving their quality of life," Ms. Ca happily said.

People are excited and eagerly waiting for the handover of their new houses. To ensure safety and soon stabilize the lives of the households, the construction work has been accelerated.

On December 24, speaking with reporters, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Khanh - Chairman of Yen Thanh Commune People's Committee said that up to now, the resettlement project in Yen Lap village has been basically completed, expected to be completed before December 31.

"This is a meaningful project for the people here. The completed and put into use resettlement area will help people have safe housing, ensure their property and lives as well as stabilize their lives to develop the local economy," the commune leader added.
