The project to renovate the coastal road DT 719B, Phan Thiet - Ke Ga section, 25.61km long, is invested by the Binh Thuan Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. Up to now, the coastal road DT 719B has completed asphalt paving for more than 20km.
Since the end of March 2023, the investor has opened the first 8km of the route to traffic. This is the section connecting National Highway 1 to the Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh intersection. Since then, many cars and motorbikes have been circulating more commonly on this road. However, in the past, many traffic accidents have occurred on this road.
Recently, a woman carrying her young child on Highway 719B plunged straight into a roadside drainage ditch. Although not life-threatening, both mother and child were injured and had to be taken to the emergency room. There have been many other accidents before this.
Therefore, people and tourists traveling on this route need to be careful because the road is deserted, many people have the mentality of driving fast, but there are curved sections, if they cannot control their speed, they can easily lose control and fall off the edge.
As for the project to renew the coastal axis road DT 719B, Phan Thiet - Ke Ga section, up to now, there is still a problem with the site clearance of the section passing through the titanium mine (3.88km long) and the site has not been handed over - it has just been agreed to be adjusted to extend the implementation, to be completed in 2025 - only the total length of 25.6km has been completed.
