On May 25, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province said that the socio-economic situation in May 2025 continued to grow positively. However, the focus in the coming time is not only economic indicators but also an urgent requirement for reorganizing the apparatus, ensuring effective operation at the commune and district levels after merging administrative units.
According to the report at the regular meeting of the provincial People's Committee, the industrial production index (IIP) in May increased by 14.3% over the same period; exports increased by 25%; Total tourism revenue increased by 35.4%; retail goods and service revenue increased by 14.5%; Transport increased by 20%. Agriculture is stable, does not generate large epidemics. The PCI index improved strongly, bringing Thanh Hoa into the top 3 of the country's strongest reform in the country for 20 years.
However, the large workload is putting a lot of pressure, including handling public assets after the merger, administrative reform, speeding up the progress of public investment and especially preparing for local government activities after communes, wards and towns are reorganized.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan directed sectors and localities to build a clear management "cenario", both ensuring double-digit growth or more in the last 6 months of the year and ensuring no interruption in the operation of the government apparatus after the reorganization.
Regarding this content, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments and branches to issue specific guidance documents based on their functions and tasks, and send them to the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities. The goal is to help grassroots levels proactively prepare conditions for organizing the apparatus, personnel, finance, assets, and facilities to serve the operation of commune-level government after the merger in a stable, effective and compulsory manner.
At the same time, he assigned the Department of Science and Technology to urgently deploy solutions to ensure network infrastructure, serving the operation of e-government in the 2-level model after the reorganization.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also noted other important tasks that need to be implemented synchronously such as: Organizing the high school graduation exam and enrolling students in grade 10, taking care of summer activities for students, speeding up the progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, ensuring social security and effectively preparing to respond to natural disasters and epidemics during the rainy and stormy season.
Solutions to increase budget revenue, manage construction material prices, resolve financial backlogs, support production and business enterprises are also required to be vigorously implemented, contributing to maintaining growth momentum and stabilizing society in the context of many changes in the organizational apparatus.
