On March 8, the Road Management Office III.4 (Road Management Area III) said that Gia Lai currently has many unreasonable signs and traffic lights.
A typical example is the traffic light pole on Ho Chi Minh Road (National Highway 14) through Pleiku city being too small and low, easily causing drivers to violate traffic safety.
Many bus and truck drivers traveling near the headquarters of the State Reserve in the Northern Central Highlands have been fined by cameras, mainly for encroaching on the line or running red lights.
Although the National Highway is wide and crowded with vehicles, the traffic lights are too small and low, making it difficult to see. In Chu Se district, the People's Committee of the district also invested in building a pepper-shaped traffic island on Ho Chi Minh road, section Km1633+450, causing a potential risk of traffic accidents.

According to Road Management Office III.4, the large radius of the roundabout on the National Highway, where the density of vehicles is high, has caused traffic obstruction. This unit requested the People's Committee of Chu Se district to consider the plan to dismantle the roundabout.
Regarding the traffic signal system, in February 2025, the Government Office issued a document requesting to handle the problems in road traffic organization.
The document requires the Ministry of Construction (Ministry of Transport after the merger) to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security and the People's Committees of provinces to review and resolve shortcomings in signs and traffic lights to reduce traffic conflicts.
The Road Management Office and the provincial Departments of Transport need to review and promptly overcome shortcomings on routes under their management.
The relevant agencies need to promptly adjust and supplement the road signaling system, arrange scientific, reasonable, easily recognizable signs and be consistent with the traffic organization plan.
