According to information from Phu Tho Provincial Police, at around 7:45 a.m. on September 23, Bach Hac Ward Police, Viet Tri City received a report from the Traffic Police Department about the discovery of a male corpse floating on the Red River in Mo Ha area, Bach Hac Ward.
Afterwards, the Investigation Police Agency of Viet Tri City Police coordinated with relevant agencies to conduct a crime scene investigation, autopsy, and notify the search for the victims, as well as notify the families of the victims in the Phong Chau bridge collapse for identification.
At around 11:30 a.m. the same day, the victim was confirmed by his family to be Mr. D.C.C (born in 1981, residing in Zone 8, Dan Thuong Commune, Ha Hoa District, Phu Tho Province) - the driver of the tractor-trailer with license plate 19H-042.12 in the Phong Chau bridge collapse.
The police handed over the victim's body according to the family's wishes for burial according to custom.
Thus far, the authorities have found and rescued 4 missing victims of the Phong Chau bridge collapse (3 on the river, 1 in a car below the bridge collapse site). The search for the remaining missing victims is still ongoing.
