In order to promptly open the N3 overpass branch of the An Phu intersection project to traffic right on the occasion of April 30th, dozens of officials and workers are sticking to the construction site, constructing despite the scorching hot weather.
Recorded at package XL10 (N3 overpass branch), the construction teams were maximized in terms of both manpower and machinery to aim for the project to be inaugurated on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026).

The contractor representative informed that the progress of branch N3 has now reached 99%. The remaining workload is not much, mainly focusing on detailed completion stages such as installing railings, cleaning and technical inspection of the bridge deck. "Although it is only the final steps, this stage requires absolute caution and meticulousness to ensure both technical quality and aesthetics. Currently, we are maintaining about 60 engineers and workers working in shifts continuously day and night to ensure the project reaches the finish line on schedule," the contractor representative shared.

With a length of about 400m and a width of 9m, the N3 bridge branch plays a vital role in directly relieving traffic pressure for vehicles moving from Mai Chi Tho street through Dong Van Cong to enter Cat Lai port cluster.

Along with that, the N4 bridge branch (taking on the reverse traffic direction from Dong Van Cong to Mai Chi Tho) is also being accelerated by the contractor in the approach span section, expected to be completed by the end of June 2026.

According to a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (the investor), to date, the 3-story An Phu intersection project has completed more than 70% of the total workload. Many key items have been put into operation before, promoting the efficiency of reducing congestion such as: HC1- and HC1- 02 underpasses, N2 overpasses. Satellite projects such as Ba Dat bridge, Giong Ong To bridge have also been basically completed.

Although contractors are focusing their efforts on accelerating, the project is still facing a major challenge at bridge branch N1. 2 due to the bottleneck of site clearance across Luong Dinh Cua road. According to the plan, this item can be completed in November 2026 if the local government hands over enough 22,000m2 of clean ground to organize construction soon.

Started in 2021 with a total investment of 3,400 billion VND, An Phu intersection is expected to be the "key" to eliminate traffic jam black spots at the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City. When completed and fully put into operation, this large-scale project will not only clear traffic flow into and out of Cat Lai port but also create a seamless connection between the vital traffic axes of the Southern Key Economic Region.
