On April 15, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper at Ben Thuy 1 bridge (on National Highway 1A, connecting Nghe An - Ha Tinh, across the Lam River), groups of workers and technical workers are urgently constructing items under the bridge decoration and installation project.
At the scene, workers are carrying out the construction and installation of support systems, fitting details into the bridge railing according to the approved plan. Some locations have deployed the installation of decorative LED lights, and at the same time prepared components to construct safe steel mesh at the bridge spans.
Construction is organized in sections, with signs, barriers and traffic control forces to ensure safety for vehicles passing through the bridge.
Previously, Road Management Zone II (Vietnam Road Administration) approved and licensed the construction of the project to build and install decorative electrical systems and safety nets on Ben Thuy 1 bridge. The project is invested by Nghi Xuan Commune People's Committee (Ha Tinh), after completing design appraisal procedures and site inspection.
According to the approved plan, the art LED lighting system is constructed and installed along both sides of the bridge railing, using low voltage to ensure safety. Along with that, protective steel mesh is constructed and installed at the bridge spans to limit the risk of objects falling down, while enhancing safety for the project.
Notably, all items are constructed in assembly form, without drilling or drilling into the current structure of the bridge, ensuring no impact on the load-bearing capacity and stability of the project.
Functional agencies require that the construction process does not cause glare, does not create effects affecting traffic participants and must maintain safe traffic 24/24h on National Highway 1A.
Ben Thuy 1 bridge is an important traffic project, connecting the two provinces of Nghe An - Ha Tinh. Over the past time, this area has recorded a number of negative incidents, many people have come to commit suicide.
The project construction is expected not only to beautify the landscape of the gateway area of the two provinces, but also to have profound humanistic meaning, contributing to preventing negative acts, ensuring safety for people and the project.
