Damage caused by floods in Ha Tinh

The floods that have occurred since September 22 have caused damage to some localities in Ha Tinh.

On the morning of September 24, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Ha Tinh province said that this morning, due to localized flooding on some roads, the whole province had 14 schools with 4,678 students absent from school.

Of which, Duc Tho district has 5 schools with 1,227 students; Huong Son district has 8 schools with 3,111 students; Nghi Xuan district has 1 school with 340 students.

Lightly flooded roads are now back to normal, but there are still 38.7km of roads in communes outside the dyke in Quang Vinh, Bui La Nhan, Tung Chau, and Lien Minh still flooded under 0.5m.

Nghi Xuan district has some localized flooding on inter-village roads in Xuan My, Xuan Lam, and Xuan Giang communes.

As of 7:00 a.m. on September 24, floods have caused some damage in some localities in Ha Tinh.

In Can Loc district, 2 electric poles in Quang Loc commune were broken; in Son Loc commune, 1 household had its roof damaged by strong winds; 4 electric poles fell on a production farm in Thanh Loc; in My Loc commune, strong winds knocked down a 37m fence, damaged about 1.8km of road lighting system, and flooded 1.5ha of aquaculture.

Vu Quang district has some hectares of crops affected, including 10 hectares of sugarcane in Tho Dien commune, 40 shade trees on traffic routes in the communes of Duc Huong, Quang Tho, Duc Lien, Duc Bong, Huong Minh.

Nghi Xuan district flooded nearly 70 hectares of crops, about 40 hectares of aquaculture area; Xuan Hoi beach continued to erode by 3m deep and 80m long.

The rain has stopped now, and flood levels on La, Ngan Pho, and Ngan Sau rivers have dropped below alert level 1.

Large reservoirs such as Ngan Truoi reservoir have only reached 38% of their design capacity, Ke Go reservoir has reached 28.7% of their design capacity, and Song Rac reservoir has reached more than 34%. The remaining reservoirs have reached capacities ranging from 50 - 85% of their design capacity.
