On the morning of August 31, through monitoring satellite cloud images, lightning positioning data and weather radar images, the meteorological agency recorded convective clouds forming and developing in many areas in the South.
In Dong Nai, convective clouds develop in Dak Nhau, Tho Son, Phuoc Son and Dak Lua. Dong Thap has Tan Phuoc 1, Tan Phuoc 2, Cai Be, Hiep Duc and Ngu Hiep; An Giang has Phu Hoa, Vinh Trach, Chau Phu, Thanh My Tay, Nui Cam and Tri Ton; Can Tho has Vinh Thanh, Thanh Quoi and Thanh Phu.
The convective cloud region tends to continue to develop and expand, with the potential to cause showers and thunderstorms in neighboring areas.
According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, on August 31, the weather in the Southern region at noon and in the afternoon, convective clouds developed more strongly, causing widespread showers, with heavy rain in some places. Highest temperature from 30-34 degrees C, lowest from 24-26 degrees C.
Areas likely to concentrate heavy rain include Lam Dong, the north of the Southeast region, the eastern coastal area and the western coastal area from Ca Mau to An Giang. During thunderstorms, people need to be wary of tornadoes, lightning, strong gusts of wind and localized heavy rain.
