On August 19, at Hoang Van Thai Intersection in Hoa Khanh Ward, Da Nang City, the Ministry of Construction coordinated with the People's Committee of Da Nang City to organize the Technical Vehicle Opening Ceremony of the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway Construction Project under the North - South Expressway Construction Project in the East phase 2021-2025.
The inauguration ceremony took place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and towards National Day on September 2
The project to build the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway section of the North - South expressway in the East, Da Nang city has a total length of about 11.5km passing through Lien Chieu ward, Hoa Khanh ward, Ba Na commune in Da Nang city.
Starting point is at Km66+000 , adjacent to Hoa Lien intersection (the end point of the Ho Chi Minh route, La Son - Hoa Lien section), in Lien Chieu ward, Da Nang city, ending point is at Km77+472 adjacent to Tuy Loan intersection (the starting point of the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway project), in Ba Na commune, Da Nang city.
The project has a total investment of more than VND 2,113 billion, using state budget capital. The project started on September 15, 2023, the expressway will be technically opened to traffic on August 19, 2025, and the entire project will be completed in 2025.
When completed and put into use, the project will be a link connecting the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway and Hai Van tunnel, National Highway 1 with the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway and National Highway 14B, ensuring smooth traffic, controlling traffic accidents, and facilitating rescue work.
To meet the increasing demand for travel and freight transportation; complete the planning for the development of the transport network and the overall planning for socio-economic development of Da Nang city, contributing to the completion of the North - South expressway network in the East.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Quang Nam - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said that after nearly 2 years of construction, with the direction of the Government, the coordination of ministries, branches, the determination of the city and the efforts of units, the project has basically completed the main route and essential items.
Site clearance is a key step, with more than 60.7 hectares of land, nearly 2,000 records, and the relocation of 3,275 graves. Up to now, the entire main route and service road have been 100% completed thanks to the consensus and great support of the people.
"When put into operation, the expressway will connect the La Son - Hoa Lien connector, Hai Van tunnel, National Highway 1, Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway, National Highway 14B; reduce traffic pressure, ensure transportation safety, and at the same time create momentum for socio-economic development, national defense - security in the region," Mr. Nam emphasized.
