Revoking mineral exploitation licenses of weak enterprises

Lang Son - The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that mineral exploitation licenses granted to enterprises with weak capacity will be revoked.

At the question and answer session at the 31st session of the Lang Son Provincial People's Council on specific solutions to overcome the situation of mineral exploitation, which has negative impacts on the environment and loss of aesthetics, affecting the ecosystem in the Lang Son Geopark area, Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that currently, in the province, there are 57 valid mineral exploitation licenses.

Of which, in the area within Lang Son Geopark, there are 47 licenses.

The leader of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee said that mineral exploitation in the Geopark area is parallel to economic development activities and the protection and conservation of natural resources and cultural heritage on the basis of compliance with the provisions of law.

Therefore, mineral exploitation and processing activities and implementation of investment projects for construction, economic and social development in Lang Son Geopark area are still taking place normally according to the province's planning and plans.

However, in the coming time, the province will strengthen the management of mineral exploitation facilities, step up inspection, review, and revoke mineral exploitation licenses granted to enterprises with weak capacity, not complying with legal regulations, causing environmental pollution, affecting the lives of people in general and the Geopark area in particular.
