On December 10, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province said that the locality has issued a document, requesting the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to consider, review, and remove areas where ores are not distributed; areas of irrigation works, roads, and residential areas from bauxite planning with a total area of about 55,000 hectares. At the same time, more than 800 hectares of titanium have been removed from the planning for exploration and exploitation.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province, the locality has strengths in bauxite and titanium, but the Government's mineral exploration and processing planning has overlapped with other socio-economic development plans and projects of the locality.
In addition, existing residential areas, traffic, energy and irrigation works are also overlapping mineral planning, affecting investment and construction, affecting people's lives.
Previously, in 2023, the Prime Minister issued Decision 866/QD-TTg dated July 18, 2023 on the planning for exploration, exploitation, processing and use of minerals for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
According to this decision, Lam Dong province has an area in the bauxite planning area of more than 244,000 hectares, with a reserve of 5.89 billion tons (accounting for 79.7% of the country); titanium 15,200 hectares, with a reserve of 124 million tons (accounting for 83% of titanium nationwide).
