On September 22, the Buon Ma Thuot Construction Investment Project Management Board (Dak Lak province) said that the unit is continuing to implement ground leveling, compensation and site clearance for the Ecological, Cultural and Ethnic Tourism Urban Area project of Dak Lak province in Tan An ward.
For land leveling and site clearance items, the project has a total investment of more than 243.6 billion VND. The 2026 capital plan allocates 238 billion VND. To date, the project has disbursed about 188 billion VND.
Regarding the compensation progress, the project has been approved in 5 phases, with 66 households and 83 land plots. Funds have been paid to households in 5 phases of about 166 billion VND, reaching 88.5%.
Currently, there are still 55 households with 70 land plots that have not been approved for compensation plans. According to the plan, in September and October, the project is expected to disburse 49.9 billion VND to pay for 15 households with 20 land plots.
The Buon Ma Thuot Construction Investment Project Management Board is committed to disbursing 100% of the capital allocated in 2026. Resettlement arrangement is also being implemented. To date, the project has allocated resettlement land to 48 households with 67 land plots.
Mr. Tran Viet Ngu - Director of Buon Ma Thuot Construction Investment Project Management Board - said that the compensation and site clearance costs of the project have increased by about 124.1 billion VND, from 235.2 billion VND to 359.3 billion VND.
The increase in compensation and site clearance costs has caused the total project implementation costs to exceed the approved total investment.
Currently, the unit is submitting a report proposing to adjust the total investment to match the actual cost. After the investment project is approved for adjustment by competent authorities, the investor will continue to submit for approval the compensation plan for 40 households with the remaining 50 land plots in 2026.
Mr. Y Nhuan Bya - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee - requested the Buon Ma Thuot Construction Investment Project Management Board to accelerate compensation, site clearance and resettlement arrangement for people in the project area.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that in 2003, Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee approved the investment policy for the project "Dak Lak ethnic minority cultural village area", located at Km6 Nguyen Chi Thanh road, Tan An ward, Buon Ma Thuot city (old).
In 2022, Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee decided to adjust and rename the project to "Economic, cultural and ethnic tourism urban area of Dak Lak province".
According to the adjusted plan, the project area is expanded to 46.07ha, with a total estimated investment of about 2,500 billion VND.
To date, about 30ha of land within the project has been cleared. The traffic road system and power grid in the resettlement area have also been completed. However, the main items and works of the project have not been implemented.
The remaining area of about 16.07ha is still continuing to implement compensation and site clearance work.
Accelerating site clearance is considered an important step to complete procedures, create a clean land fund and implement the main items of the project in the near future.
