On May 25, reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper recorded at Hong Vuong stone mine in Can Loc commune, some workers are drilling to detonate mines to mine stone. Through observation, this stone mine is mining at the foot of Hong Linh mountain with high, vertical cliffs, causing many difficulties, dangers, and potential safety hazards.

On high cliffs, in harsh hot weather, drilling machines operators have to face dust, narrow terrain, and slippery rocky mountains that are easy to slip and fall.
It is worth mentioning that some of these workers did not comply with wearing proper labor protection, they wore pith helmets and conical hats, not hard helmets according to regulations.

About 500 m from Hong Vuong quarry is Ngoc Hai quarry, which is also being exploited. Excavators operating near vertical cliffs have been exploiting, posing a potential safety hazard if landslides occur.

Mr. Le Dinh Ky - management official of Hong Vuong Joint Stock Company said that the issue of labor safety at Hong Vuong stone mine has been thoroughly grasped by the Company's leaders, requiring all officials and employees to strictly comply.
Every year, the Company issues labor protection for workers to wear. At the stone mine, banners and slogans about ensuring labor safety are installed and hung such as "Safety for production, production must be safe", "Safety is paramount"...
Mr. Dam Van Nga - Director of the stone mining company at Hong Vuong quarry said that stone drilling and blasting activities are being carried out by the company hiring another enterprise.
Regarding the fact that some workers did not comply with wearing full labor protection when drilling rocks to detonate mines, Mr. Dam Van Nga said that they were workers of the company that the unit hired to detonate mines.
I will contact the company there to remind and thoroughly instruct workers to strictly comply with regulations on labor safety and wear full labor protection during work," Mr. Nga affirmed.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Duong - Head of the Economic Department of Can Loc commune said that recently, Can Loc commune has sent a document to stone mine owners in the area requesting them to seriously comply with regulations on ensuring safety and labor hygiene in mining and processing activities (mixing, grinding stone).
Along with issuing directing documents, the locality also conducts inspections, reminders, and requests all mine owners and stone mining enterprises to comply with the provisions of law on labor safety and ensure environmental sanitation.
Regarding the fact that some workers still do not comply with wearing full labor protection during stone mining, a representative of the Economic Department of Can Loc commune said that the locality will conduct inspections to remind and promptly rectify.
According to the Ha Tinh Department of Agriculture and Environment, in the past time, the Department has coordinated with localities and functional sectors to inspect and review the compliance with technical exploitation procedures, labor safety plans, environmental protection and the use of industrial explosives at stone mines.
Through inspection, there are still some potential safety hazards that have been requested to be promptly overcome. In the coming time, the Department will continue to strengthen management, requiring businesses to strictly comply with regulations to minimize incidents during exploitation.
