On October 2, according to information from Ha Giang Provincial Police, authorities found the body of the last missing victim in the landslide that occurred on the morning of September 29 at Km51 on National Highway 2 (QL2).
The victim was identified as Mr. N.V.T (born in 1960), residing in Tan Tien village, Tan Quang commune, Bac Quang district.
Mr. T’s body was found on the floor of his house under a layer of landslide which was deeper than 3 meters. To date, 5 missing victims of the landslide on Highway 2 have been found and handed over to their families.
A serious landslide at Km51 National Highway 2 through Viet Vinh Commune (Bac Quang) left 15 people dead and injured. Of these, 6 people died, 9 were injured, 379 houses were damaged, 118 houses were in areas at high risk of landslides.
Currently, another crack about 2m wide has appeared on the positive slope of National Highway 2, near the Km51 landslide. Authorities have evacuated people to a safe place and banned people and vehicles from approaching the landslide area.
