On the morning of March 10, information from leaders of Bac Nha Trang ward, Khanh Hoa province said that after a period of searching until this morning, the search force discovered and brought the body of the young man missing while swimming in the sea in Hon Chong area on the evening of March 8 ashore.
Currently, functional agencies of Khanh Hoa province are carrying out procedures to hand over to the family for funeral arrangements.
Previously, on the evening of March 8, victim Vo Duc M (born in 2006, residing in hamlet 1, Dien Dien commune, Khanh Hoa province) and a friend were swimming at the sea in the Hon Chong area.
While swimming in the sea, the group of young people encountered big waves and were swept away. M was swept away and went missing. Immediately after that, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 9 (under the Fire and Rescue Police of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police) quickly dispatched vehicles and 7 officers and soldiers to the scene to organize the search.
In the area where the incident occurred, rescue forces coordinated with Bac Nha Trang Ward Police and Cau Bong Border Guard Station to deploy measures to search for victims.
However, due to darkness, high waves and complicated weather conditions, the search at night encountered many difficulties. After many hours of efforts but no results, functional forces temporarily withdrew troops to ensure safety.
On March 9, units continued to mobilize forces and vehicles to expand the search area. By the morning of March 10, the victim's body was discovered not far from the scene of the incident.
According to functional agencies, some sea areas of Nha Trang in recent days have had large waves, rough seas, and some areas have seen offshore currents (RIP flow).
Functional agencies recommend that people and tourists not swim in dangerous areas or without rescue forces, especially in the evening or when the sea is rough, to avoid unfortunate incidents.
