On January 21, according to information from the People's Committee of Lang Son province, the locality has completed the payment of Tet gifts to target groups according to the provisions of Resolution No. 418/NQ-CP dated December 28, 2025 of the Government on giving gifts from the Party and State on the occasion of welcoming the 14th National Party Congress and the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year.
Specifically, the whole province has given gifts to 42,279 cases, including people with meritorious services to the revolution, social protection beneficiaries, social retirees and other vulnerable groups.
Among these, 1,684 people received money through accounts to receive allowances and subsidies, and 40,595 people were paid in cash. The gift amount is 400,000 VND/person, with a total implementation cost of more than 16.9 billion VND.
To implement the policy, the Provincial People's Committee directs the People's Committees of communes and wards to review, statistically, and approve the list of eligible subjects according to guidance; and at the same time organize information and propaganda for people to understand the policy, ensuring publicity and transparency.
In the process of implementation, relevant agencies and local authorities coordinate with the police force in the area to organize gift giving at the right time, for the right subjects, and in accordance with regulations, creating favorable conditions for people, especially the elderly and cases in difficult circumstances.
According to the assessment of the Provincial People's Committee, giving gifts not only has the meaning of material support but also shows the concern and care of the Party and State for vulnerable groups, contributing to encouraging people to rise up in life, welcoming the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year in a warm and affectionate atmosphere.
