According to records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, currently, provincial road 523 passing through Ngoc Trao and Kim Tan communes, Thanh Hoa province is seriously damaged. The road surface at many locations is peeling, subsided and broken.
In some places, the road surface is deformed, with dense potholes, buffalo pits, and potholes. This situation greatly affects the travel and lives of people living along the road.
Mr. Bui Manh Chung (resident of Di Tien village, Ngoc Trao commune, Thanh Hoa province) said that provincial road 523 has been damaged for many years. Rainy weather, muddy roads; sunny weather, dust flying everywhere. People and vehicles passing through here have to move very slowly.
“Our people have suffered this situation for many years. The road is damaged but has not been repaired, while every day people still have to live with dust. Some families have to use tarpaulins to cover their houses to prevent dust” - Mr. Chung shared.
Like Mr. Chung, Mr. Bui Van Hoan (resident of Ngoc Trao village, Ngoc Trao commune) said that he travels through this road twice a day and every time he feels frustrated by the degraded condition.
From Ngoc Trao commune to Kim Tan commune is only nearly 10km, but sometimes it takes nearly 1 hour. Adults travel already hard, young children and students are even more vất vả. Every day, many students and parents have to travel on this provincial road" - Mr. Hoan said.
Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Dong Thinh - Chairman of Ngoc Trao Commune People's Committee, Thanh Hoa province - confirmed that provincial road 523 passing through the area has been degraded and damaged for many years, making it difficult for people to travel.
Up to now, the road renovation project has been approved and the contractor has been selected. According to the plan, the construction unit will deploy in August, however, it may be due to heavy rain that construction has not been carried out yet" - Mr. Thinh informed.
