Lao Cai - After 2 months of construction, the resettlement areas of Nam Tong (Nam Luc) and Kho Vang (Coc Lau) in Bac Ha district have gradually been completed.

Bac Ha is one of the districts heavily affected by storm No. 3 in Lao Cai province (especially in Nam Tong village, Nam Luc commune and Kho Vang village, Coc Lau commune with dozens of people dead due to landslides).

Overcoming the pain and loss, people are gradually stabilizing their psychology and returning to normal life.

In order for people to soon stabilize their lives, the district's functional departments have promoted the arrangement and construction of spacious, clean and safe resettlement areas.

In early December, after traveling about 60 km from Lao Cai city center to find resettlement areas in Bac Ha district, the reporter arrived at the housing construction site in Kho Vang village, Coc Lau commune.

According to records, most of the new resettlement houses have completed the rough construction, a few of the last houses are under roofing construction. At the construction site, dozens of workers and specialized machines are working diligently.

At the bottom of the hill, workers are paving the concrete path, while others are constructing stone embankments along the road.

At the time of recording, although it was drizzling outside and the roads were slippery, the workers still did not mind the difficulties to bring the project to the finish line on schedule.

At the resettlement area of Nam Tong village (Nam Luc commune), all 15 houses for households have been roughly completed. Currently, the construction unit is roofing the community house and classroom.

Having lost his home and father after a landslide in early September and now living in temporary tents, Ly Lau (Nam Tong village) is less worried as he is about to move to a resettlement house.

“All the households here have already drawn lots to choose a house. Now we just want to move to a new house soon so that we no longer have to endure this temporary living situation. When we have a new house, we will be able to work with peace of mind to restore and develop our family economy,” said Mr. Ly Lau.

Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Ha Duc Thanh - Director of Bac Ha District Construction Investment Project Management Board said that after more than 2 months of construction, the items of the Kho Vang village reconstruction project are being ensured by the construction units to ensure the set progress. These days, contractors have mobilized more than 100 workers and a series of machines to simultaneously construct many items.

Currently, all 35 houses have been roofed and paved, and construction units are continuing to paint the walls and complete auxiliary items.

For the resettlement area of Nam Tong village, the roof and flooring of the community house are being constructed. The classrooms for students are also in the process of completion. As for the housing for households, it is basically finished.
