In mid-December, at the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang border gate expressway construction site, the urgent working atmosphere blended with the joy that was evident on every face of the local workers and people.
After more than 1 year and 8 months of continuous construction, the 43km long expressway is entering the final final drainage stage, ready for the opening ceremony scheduled to take place on the morning of December 19.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters at Km44+700, in Nhan Ly commune, where the route opening ceremony was planned to be held, flags, billboards, and banners have been fully installed.

The roads leading to the event area are cleaned, creating a solemn and exciting atmosphere. Not only at the construction site, joy also spreads in the lives of people living along the expressway.
Mr. Hoang Van Loi (62 years old, Nhan Ly commune) shared: "We look forward to this route every day. Previously, travel was difficult, now seeing the expressway about to open, everyone is happy. With a new road, travel and business are certainly more convenient."
The construction atmosphere is still maintained urgently along the entire route. More than 19km of the expressway has been paved; construction units are continuing to complete the embankment system to prevent landslides on positive slopes, drainage ditches and auxiliary items.


The Huu Nghi - Chi Lang border gate expressway has a total of 38 bridges; of which, the Km18 overpass has been basically completed, the bridge surface is being completed according to plan.
The Huu Nghi - Chi Lang border gate expressway project started construction at the end of April 2024, with a total investment of more than VND 11,000 billion, implemented under the form of public-private partnership (PPP), BOT contract.
The construction process mobilized 2,821 engineers, workers, 1,237 equipment, organized 141 simultaneous construction teams, ensuring progress and quality of the project.
On December 18, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Hoang Dinh Tue - Deputy Director of the Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that according to the plan, the project enterprise and contractors set a goal of completing about 30km of asphalt concrete, connecting the section from Yen Trach intersection to the end point of the route at Chi Lang before Tet.

This is a key task in the next phase. Contractors are required to mobilize maximum human resources, equipment, organize continuous construction, and take advantage of favorable weather to ensure the completion of the asphalt paving volume according to the committed schedule, Mr. Tue emphasized.
Along with that, site clearance continues to be identified as a key stage.
The Project Management Board is closely coordinating with departments, branches, and local authorities to focus on removing obstacles, striving to promptly hand over clean land to the construction unit.

According to Mr. Tue, for areas that are still facing difficulties, especially hot spots such as Dong Kinh ward, all levels and sectors will take drastic action, fully and in accordance with regulations, implement compensation and support policies, ensure the harmony of interests of the State, businesses and people, not to affect the overall progress of the project.
The opening ceremony of the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang expressway project is one of 234 projects nationwide that simultaneously started construction, inaugurated, opened to technical traffic, and opened the route on the morning of December 19, welcoming the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress and the 14th National Party Congress.

The ceremony was held at 79 locations nationwide, in the form of direct combination online, connecting via television.
When the whistle blew, the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang expressway will shorten the distance, expanding development space for the border area.
On the completed roadbed, there is the sweat and efforts of thousands of engineers and workers, the belief and expectation of the people of the border area for a smooth future of trade and a better life.
