According to the Yen Bai Province Hydrometeorological Station, the water level on the Thao River in Yen Bai and the Thia Stream is rising rapidly. The water level at 9:00 a.m. on October 1 on the Thao River was 27.46m (2.54m below alert level 1); the Thia Stream was 42.49m (2.01m below alert level 1).

Accordingly, from October 1 to 2, a flood will occur on rivers and streams in the province, with a flood amplitude of 3 - 5m. During this flood, the peak water level on Thao River in Yen Bai, Thia stream is likely to reach alert level 1 - alert level 2.

Risk of flash floods and landslides in all districts, towns and cities in the province: Mu Cang Chai, Tram Tau, Van Chan, Van Yen, Tran Yen, Luc Yen, Yen Binh, Nghia Lo town, Yen Bai city (information about areas at risk of flash floods and landslides is detailed to the commune level in separate bulletins warning of flash floods and landslides).

Due to the impact of heavy rain, there is a risk of flooding in low-lying areas along rivers and streams, urban areas, especially in the districts of Luc Yen, Van Yen, Tran Yen, Yen Binh, and Yen Bai city.

Warning of the impact of floods on rivers and streams causing flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, affecting activities such as water transport, aquaculture, agricultural production, threatening people's lives and property and socio-economic activities.

In Yen Bai, the impact of storm No. 3 left 54 ​​people dead and missing; 27,331 houses damaged and affected; many infrastructures and agricultural production facilities were damaged.

Preliminary damage estimates are about 5,738 billion VND.
