Yen Bai has just experienced a historic flood with heavy destruction, with 54 people dead and missing; 25,263 houses damaged; 28 schools flooded, 37 schools collapsed...

Immediately after the storm passed, with the joint efforts of the entire political system, on September 16, schools in Yen Bai province welcomed students back.

Promoting the tradition of solidarity, "mutual love and support", sharing difficulties and losses with people in flood-affected areas, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund coordinated with a group of students in Hanoi to present a total of 67 gifts including cash, books, toys, milk, clothes, shoes, soap and many other essential items to 62 children and 5 teachers at Vuc But school.

This is a satellite school of Phong Du Ha Kindergarten, Van Yen District, Yen Bai Province, nearly 7km from Phong Du Ha Commune center. The facilities and roads are extremely difficult.

The school has 62 students and 5 teachers, 90% of whom are ethnic minority children. During the recent storm and flood, not only the school but also the students’ families were greatly affected.
