As reported by Lao Dong newspaper, since July 25, implementing the Plan for general control of passenger and cargo transportation business activities by cars and inland waterway vehicles, the Hanoi Traffic Police force has increased patrols and controls continuously 24/24 hours on key traffic routes.

On August 2, information from the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, in order to expand the scope of control, from August 1, this unit will continue to deploy additional inter-line patrol and control teams on National Highways 1A and 1B.
The working group includes traffic police and commune-level police to deploy public patrols combined with disguise, use professional technical equipment, and control 24/24 all types of vehicles.

On the first day of expanding the control period (August 1) alone, the working groups inspected 421 vehicles and discovered 30 violations; fined 85.4 million VND, and temporarily detained 12 vehicles.
Common violations include: violating alcohol concentration (10 cases), speeding (9 cases), no transportation contract (1 case), not wearing a helmet (3 cases), and other violations (22 cases).
According to the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, general vehicle control is being implemented synchronously throughout the city, especially at gateways to tighten traffic safety and order, prevent and reduce traffic accidents on both roads and waterways.
From July 25 to now, taking into account the results of handling related to transport business vehicles alone, the Hanoi Traffic Police force has controlled 5,766 vehicles, handling 685 violations (including 427 passenger cars, 255 trucks, 03 semi-trailers); revoked driving licenses for 07 cases, deducted driving license points for 53 cases, and temporarily detained 02 vehicles.
On waterways, the authorities controlled 197 vehicles, handled 29 violations, and fined about 20.35 million VND. Of which, overload violations accounted for the majority with 25 cases, the rest were violations related to the operation of cross-river passenger wharves (04 cases).
