The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has just sent a document to the Department of Planning and Architecture and the People's Committee of Vuon Lai Ward regarding the adjustment of the boundary of Tran Binh Trong Street related to the land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To.
According to the plan proposed by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, Tran Binh Trong Street will be expanded from 5 m to 17 m, equivalent to 4 lanes (each lane is 3.5 m wide).
Regarding sidewalks, the side adjacent to residential areas will be at least 3 m wide, while the side adjacent to the park will be designed according to the project documents of the park.
Regarding the adjusted planning boundary, the Department of Construction proposed to extend the existing boundary on the residential side to the park to ensure sufficient road clearance as required, while reducing the clearance impact.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has previously sent an urgent document to the Department of Finance, requesting to advise the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to assign the task of preparing for investment to the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor.
According to the proposal, the Tran Binh Trong road expansion project will be added to the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030, with a total estimated investment of about 1,073 billion VND.
Of which, the capital plan for 2026 alone is expected to allocate about 850 billion VND to submit to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for approval at the November 2025 session.
Tran Binh Trong Street is currently about 370 m long, but the road surface is only 5 m wide on average, narrow and not synchronized with neighboring axes such as Hung Vuong and Ly Thai To.
When completed and expanded to 17 m, 4 lanes wide, the route will connect through the main traffic axes, helping to reduce congestion, improve urban landscape and improve the quality of infrastructure in the central area.
The project plans to clear and relocate 115 households and 1 organization to have a construction site. Of the total investment capital, compensation and site clearance costs account for more than VND 830.5 billion, while construction costs are about VND 40.7 billion.

The land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To has an area of about 44,312 m2, of which the usable floor area is more than 7,100 m2, currently managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previously, this was the Government Guest House, but it has been vacant for many years.
Ho Chi Minh City is preparing to hand over this land to the sponsor to implement a green park project combined with a community living space and the COVID-19 victims Memorial.
The project is expected to be completed before the Lunar New Year 2026, creating more green space and a meaningful memorial space right in the city center.
